Bingo wins short competition at IFF Gijon 2009
On Saturday the 28th of November director Timur Ismailov and producer Maarten van der Ven received the prize for best short at the International Film Festival in Gijon. Winning the prize was a big honor while the other competitors had won competitions in a few major filmfestivals like Cannes and Locarno.
Bingo also received some other prizes during the last few months:
Pathé Tuschinski Award – the Best Dutch Graduation Film - awarded by the Union of the Dutch Film Critics (the Netherlands Film Festival, Utrecht, September 25, 2009)
Best Director Award - ArtKino, the All-Russian Festival of Short Auteur Films (Moscow, September 27, 2009)
Nomination for the Best Actor - Sergiu Voloc (the leading actor in Bingo), the All-Russian Festival of Short Auteur Films (Moscow, September 27, 2009)
